✨ Trying my best to make the web better

23 years old as of today, I am currently working remotely for Mink, a web development agency.

On a daily basis, I like to create robust and enjoyable web applications for our customers.

Although I have a few skills in front-end development and enjoy building user interfaces,
I find myself more interested in back-end development. I am particularly drawn to working with server-side logic, APIs, and databases.

Why did I choose PHP ?

When I started my studies, after enduring algorithmic courses written on paper, my first programming language was C#. A good introduction to development with a strongly typed language. To think that some people start with JavaScript... but nobody's perfect. That's why I threw C# in the trash and started developing web applications in PHP. The learning curve was less steep than C# for a beginner, and I quickly grew to love the ease and speed of the language.

Then I became interested in Symfony, Laravel, and Drupal (I should have skipped that last one). One thing led to another, and I did a successful first internship, then a second. These experiences then guided me toward an apprenticeship contract where I was able to use Laravel and VueJS daily. Guess what? They now pay the bills, and I met a lot of cool people!

Looking back, I don't think I would have taken this path if I had started my career 10 years earlier. I find that PHP has only been good since version 7. Today it's a mature language with a rich ecosystem that offers very good performance. What more could you ask for?
